Los Angeles-based The City Drive has recorded with producer Mike Green (Yellowcard, The Matches, Over It, Rufio) as well as producer Chris Fudurich (Jimmy Eat World, Finch, Nada Surf, Rx Bandits).
In March 2004, The City Drive performed on the opening night of the SXSW (South by Southwest) Festival in Austin, Texas, alongside such bands as The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, NOFX and Alkaline Trio. In June, they joined the Nokia Core Tour.
In December 2004, The City Drive signed a record deal with We The People/Sony Records. 2005 was spent touring and recording their debut, full-length CD, Always Moving Never Stopping, with Fudurich which features backing vocals by Rachel Haden (Jimmy Eat World’s Bleed American, Weezer, Beck, That Dog, The Rentals).
The City Drive played dates on the Vans Warped Tour for the first time in the summer of 2006, not long after opening for multi-platinum-selling artists Hoobastank. Later that same year, The City Drive toured the east coast with Allister and Self Against City.
Always Moving Never Stopping was released on June 27 2006. It quickly went to #1 on Smartpunk.com and spent five straight weeks in that spot.
The band’s music has been heard on television (Celebrity Poker Showdown, Runaway) in major motion pictures (Yours, Mine & Ours, American Pie: Band Camp) and they regularly appear in respected music publications like [Alternative Press] magazine.
