Broadway Calls - Broadway Calls

Hailing from Rainer, Oregon, three guys set out to make their mark on music, and Broadway Calls did just that. Consisting of guitar/vocalist Ty Vaughn, Bass/vocalist Matt Koenig, and drummer Josh Baird, these guys have music in their blood. Their self titled, second full length album is nothing short of amazing. If you think this is just another pop punk album that sounds just like everything else, re-evaluate that. I’m sorry, but you’re wrong. Broadway Calls delivers the catchy pop punk that people have grown to love, but put their own special little twist on it.

The album starts off incredibly powerful and sets the tone for the rest of the album. With their pop punk style and catchy lyrics, its absolutely impossible to not want to learn the words since along and just break out into a random dance party. The lyrics are mature and discuss topics that are meaningful rather than those of teenage problems like bad hairs days or not having a date to prom.

Besides the depth of their lyrics, the singer has such a unique voice that when singing along, you want to sound just like him. They have the kind of songs that when you come out of the shower you just wanna grab your hairbrush and start singing and dancing in the mirror. Maybe thats just me? I dont know. Either way, they are catchy, fun and if you don’t dance in the mirror with your hairbrush, listen to them and then do it, but hey thats just some friendly advice.

I could go on and on about how much I loved this album, but I’m not going to. So get yourself a copy of this and don’t stop listening to it until the songs start skipping and then when that happens, get a new one. Oh and no excuses not to check them out live. Broadway Calls have lots of dates on the Vans Warped Tour so check them out when they come to a nearby city.

Stand Out Tracks:

“Call It Off”

“Bad Intentions”

“Escape from Capitol Hill”

Good solid, melodic punk rock. Broadway Calls reminds me of the bands I fell in love with when my buddies and I used to head to Minneapolis every weekend to frequent the punk bars & clubs.
