Chiodos: Bone Palace Ballet
The Indie Review
By Sean Duregger
September 21, 2007
Artist: Chiodos
Album: Bone Palace Ballet
Label: Equal Vision Records
Rating:

Chiodos burst on the scene in 2005 with their Equal Vision debut All’s Well That Ends Well. The record went on to blow away expectations and was one of Equal Visions best selling albums that year. Now, 2 years later, Chiodos has built upon the success of their debut album by releasing an epic masterpiece and easily one of the best sophomore efforts I have ever heard with 2007’s Bone Palace Ballet.
With dualing riffing guitars, blistering breakdowns, beautiful and haunting melodies and Craig Owens’ amazing vocal range, Chiodos has done what a lot of bands fail to do. Many bands suffer creatively on their sophomore albums, but Chiodos have released an album that stands head and shoulders above their debut on so many levels. All’s Well That Ends Well was a great and extremely memorable album, while Bone Palace Ballet is the album that will put Chiodos on the map as a band that demands respect and longevity.
