So you think you have the best mustache? I’m not so sure about that. Looking at Emerald Honor’s MySpace, these Arizona boys have some pretty dedicated fans that have taken mustaches to the next level. While the fans were pretty amped to have their mustaches posted on the site, they should have been even more pumped to get a copy of the newly released Self Titled album. With catchy lyrics and some serious music, this album is an absolute must have.
With an intro that first sounds like horses freaking out and then a spaceship is landing in your ear, it was unclear how the rest of the album would pan out. But after getting past the intro, and reaching the second track, I was really feeling it. It wasn’t a “Okay, this isn’t bad” kind of feeling it, more like “Wow, this is awesome, I want to hear it again!” kind of feeling it. I’m not joking when I say I listened to Circles in the Sand over 20 times today. The opening lyrics in Circles in the Sand is what really got me.
If I still believed in this idea of luck, I’d make a dozen excuses so I’d have to give up. But my time is running short, I’m counting down
While the lyrics aren’t overly creative; between the music, vocals, and harmonies, the song is on point.
The incredible music, vocals and harmonies are not only found on that track though. The entire album is full of talent. The drums, guitar, and vocals especially make them really stand out band. While Emerald Honor does resemble other popular bands now a days, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. No one is recreating the wheel with the music, but they definitely have their own style and sound that makes them stand above the rest. Each song has something special to offer and sounds different from the previous one. The album pretty much rocks and they definitely drafted another fan on this one, maybe not a new mustache, but a fan for sure.
Stand Out Tracks:
