I give Hardcore/Metal bands a lot of shit sometimes. Mainly because it’s a genre that tends to churn out tons of bands who all sound the same. Recently, I discovered Oh The Blood, a breath of fresh air from Berea, Kentucky. They recently released their EP This World Needs No Introduction on Standby Records, and it’s a hint of some great things to come.
This World Needs No Introduction is a 6 song EP that is full of the standard riffs and brutal breakdowns you find in most hardcore bands. However, Oh The Blood also layer in some European influenced riffs along with some splashes of synthesizer. Oh The Blood isn’t out to re-invent the genre, but they do inject some life and passion into it.
Stand Out Tracks:
“Prophet”
“What Society Calls”
“Faith VS Fate”
