Tokyo Rose: The Promise in Compromise
The Indie Review
By Sean Duregger
September 14, 2007
Artist: Tokyo Rose
Album: The Promise in Compromise
Label: Sidecho Records
Rating:

In October of 2005, Tokyo Rose released their sophmore album New American Saint on Sidecho Records. Now in 2007 on their most recent outing, The Promise in Compromise, Tokyo Rose builds on their past 2 albums with a solid work that is a better album than both 2003’s Reinventing A Lost Art
and 2005’s New American Saint
.
I love seeing a band get better with each release. It shows that the band is not afraid to try new things and take risks. While The Promise in Compromise isn’t breaking ground or re-inventing any genre, it is a solidly executed rock album with great vocals and musicianship, memorable anthems, hooks and choruses. Not Top 40 fluff, this is an album that sticks to your ribs and will have you re-visiting for another listen multiple times.
Stand Out Tracks:
“A Pound of Silver is Worth its Weight in Blood”
“I Won’t Say”
“Can I Change Your Mind?”
