Circa Survive partner with Invisible Children
Author: Sean

For their spring tour, Circa Survive is partnering with the non-profit organization Invisible Children to raise awareness about the war in Uganda - a region in East Africa that has suffered from civil unrest since the early 1980’s.
Circa Survive will join tourmates Thrice and Pelican in donating prizes to The Invisible Children Spring Music Raffle, which will include an autographed Masters of Maple Snare Drum and a hand-painted First Act guitar from Circa Survive. In addition, the band will be releasing an exclusive, unreleased song during the tour with profits going to Invisible Children.
“We don’t want to just raise money with this,” said Brendan Ekstrom from Circa Survive. “We want to raise awareness so people really know where this money is going. It means a lot to us to be able to use our art to be involved with something so important.”

The full-U.S. tour featuring Thrice, Circa Survive, and Pelican begins April 16th and ends May 30th. For tickets and information, visit Circa Survive’s official website.

Secret & Whisper is a band that has been getting some hype for some time now. So, of course I decided I’d better check them out. Great White Whale was released on Tooth and Nail Records this week and I have to tell you: save your money, buy Saosin instead.
Secret & Whisper sound like Saosin’s jealous younger brother. There is absolutely no originality to this album. In fact, I began to think I was listening to some unreleased Saosin demos. The vocals, guitars, drums & song structure have no originality to them what-so-ever.
Great White Whale is an uninspired copy-cat. Buy any Saosin or Circa Survive album and forget this trash ever existed.

FEB 11 2008 - Fresh off of the UK Kerrang! Tour, CIRCA SURVIVE announces a six week tour supporting experimental/progressive SoCal natives, Thrice, commencing April 16 in San Diego, CA. The tour will bring them across the U.S. and back to finish off in Los Angeles on May 30.
In ‘07, the band kicked off the year by gracing the cover of Alternative Press‘ April issue, co-headlining the AP Tour with Cute Is What We Aim For, released the highly anticipated sophomore record, On Letting Go
, and video for their single, The Difference Between Medicine and Poison is in the Dose in May. Not stopping there, the band performed at Coachella, then spent the entire summer on the 13th annual Van’s Warped Tour followed by a successful headlining run with Ours and Fear Before The March of Flames on hand for support, and finally ending the year at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey with Thursday.
2008 is shaping up to be just as jam packed. CIRCA SURVIVE started the year off overseas in support of the UK Kerrang! Tour with Coheed and Cambria, January 23 - February 8. The Pennsylvania natives will then head to the west coast for the 2008 UCR Heat Festival. After a short break, they’ll take to the road with Thrice for a six week run which includes the Bamboozle festival in New Jersey.
On Letting Go debuted at #24 on the Billboard Top 200 and has sold over 93,000 records to date. In a four-out-of-five star review, Alternative Press described the record as “a wonderful sophomore effort: a logical extension of a band who’ve toured nonstop… getting to know themselves and each other in the process.” Of the single, “The Difference…”, AP says it’s “a flawless song with each member falling deftly into place behind Green’s vocals.”
