I totally dropped the ball and pronounced Cue the Doves’ new album wrong. I said “Stabilizing Vocals.” It’s actually STABILIZING VITALS. My mistake. Sorry guys!

Band: Medicated Kisses
Album: Medicated Kisses EP
Rating:

There are bands and then there are Holy shit! Where did this band come from?! bands. Medicated Kisses is the latter.
The first song on this EP is their single A Wolf Among Lilacs and is by far one of the catchiest songs I’ve heard this year and Alanna’s vocals are the strongest of ANY band I’ve heard this year so far. Her voice commands these songs without overbearing the music. In fact, it’s a perfect blend of songwriting and vocals. The music on these 4 songs is so well-written that the songs perfectly compliment Alanna’s voice.
Medicated Kisses is THE band to watch this year. There is already a very positive buzz about them and if they keep writing songs like this, things are definately looking extremely bright for them. I never usually recommend EPs, but you’ll want these songs as soon you hear them.
Standout Tracks:
“A Wolf Among Lilacs”
“Fantastic Gentlement”
