I had a few errors on the show this week and wanted to address them:
1) The 5th song is by Mosh Patrol, from the Aughra & Mosh Patrol split EP Is Anyone Else Outside
2) Driving East’s new album, The Future of the Free World is Riding on This One is currently available exclusively at Smartpunk (orders ship with a free poster while supplies last); the album hits all other retailers on April 15th.
3) The New Frontiers‘ new album Mending is available now at your favorite Independent music store and everywhere else on April 29th.

The Indie Review
By Sean Duregger

Band: The Wedding
Album: Polarity
Label: Brave New World
Rating:

In 2005, The Wedding burst on the scene with a mediocre and generic self-titled album. It was one of those CDs that I couldn’t even get through 1 full listen.
Now, in 2007 The Wedding have release their sophomore effort, Polarity, on Brave New World. Usually bands suffer from something from something called the “Sophomore Slump” on follow up records. With Polarity, The Wedding have given us a “Sophomore Ass-Kicking!” This is such a great rock record on so many levels.
Polarity is a rock record that is not afraid to give you thought provoking messages mixed with well thought out song writing. There is a great mix of hooks, guitar solos, gang vocals and catchy choruses on this record. This isn’t a ground breaking album at all, the songs are a blend of straight up rock n roll, a sprinkling of hardcore/screamo elements, pop rock and even ballads, and can be a bit uneven at times because of the broad mixture of styles. But, The Wedding have offered us a great rock record that isn’t beating us over the head with an agenda or generic melodies. Instead, Polarity is an album combining meaningful lyrics and ideas with some great memorable rock and roll.
It’s great to see a band improve and take risks with every new record. The Wedding is on track to be a band to watch this next year.
Stand Out Tracks:
“Say Your Prayers”
“Staring at the Light”
